On Sunday February 28th, 2010 at around 6 AM a fire started somewhere in the back of Little Acorn Restaurant and burned the kitchen. Fortunately a fire fighter was on his way to work and spotted flames coming out of the building. We are thankful to him and the entire fire department for acting so quickly.
The restaurant will be closed until it can be repaired and we will let you know when we are back in operation.

DUBAI — A traditional Emirati restaurant in Dubai has added a new entree to its menu billed as a fat-free choice for carnivorous but health-conscious diners: the Camel Burger.
For $5.45, the Local House restaurant offers a quarter pound camel burger, loaded with cheese and smothered in burger sauce, the Xpress weekly newspaper reported on Thursday.
Ali Ahmad Esmail, Local House assistant manager, told the paper that the burger patties were fat- and cholesterol-free. But he declined to say how the outlet tenderized the tough camel meat.
“It’s a trade secret,” he said.
Camel meat is widely eaten in some Arab countries, but is not typically sold in supermarkets or served in restaurants.
The paper reported that Local House said it was the first to introduce the burger in the United Arab Emirates. A fast food outlet in neighboring Saudi Arabia put baby camel burgers on its menu last year.
The camel burger, a hit with residents and tourists, could soon also be on offer in the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest tower formerly known as Burj Dubai, where Local House may open a branch, the paper said.
The burger is served with fries or potato wedges, and the paper suggested it could be washed down with a soft drink or a camel milkshake, also available in Dubai.

February 5th, 2010 admin Did you ever see the beautiful orange trim lights around Little Acorn at nightime? Well here is a shot of what the building looks like at night. Pretty isn’t it? Come in and have dinner sometime. The Halibut dinner is really great and is made with honest to goodness real halibut.

Could it be the Bahamas? Hawaii, Mexico, Cancun? Perhaps it’s Sea World ? All wrong! Actually it’s the fish tank at Little Acorn Restaurant. Come by and take a look.
The fish love their tank but they hate the SeaBurger sandwich that customers enjoy on a daily basis.
January 12th, 2010 admin In-N-Out Burger has lots of lines and you have to fight for a space to sit. We don’t have that here and we have a burger that is just as good or better. I guess advertising pays. Why not come and compare our burger with In-N-Out’s burger? You’ll be surprised at our quality and taste.

Our building looks like a Swiss Chalet in the snow, especially at night with it’s orange trim lighting. Come in and enjoy a fresh hot sandwich or burger. I hear the tater tots are really great this time of year.
Did you know that the bread we use is made fresh in the morning every day? No wonder it tastes so good!
