Deluxe Bacon Burger wins the Crown in Utah

The double deluxe burger at Little Acorn wins the Crown burger award in my opinion. Two patties of yummy beef in a fresh bun and all the trimmings you would expect in a burger mecca like Little Acorn. Add fries, tater tots, or English fries and you’ll have a feast that any royal burger eater in Utah would be proud of.

Open and going strong!

We opened Thursday to a rush of customers. Things have been going well since and the Shadow Fighters have been flying out of the door.

If you stopped by to see the new remodel and get a bite, thank you! We appreciate your business.

Remodeling is coming along

It’s amazing how fast things can be accomplished. The remodeling of the restaurant is coming along at record breaking speed. If you’ve driven by lately you no doubt noticed the large bins in the parking lot. These are for removing all the junk. With many hands helping the work is going fast. We estimate we can reopen in about 4 weeks. Everything will be fresh and new and smell of new paint. You’ll have to stop by when we open.

Fire at Little Acorn

Dear Patrons;

On Sunday February 28th, 2010 at around 6 AM a fire started somewhere in the back of Little Acorn Restaurant and burned the kitchen. Fortunately a fire fighter was on his way to work and spotted flames coming out of the building. We are thankful to him and the entire fire department for acting so quickly.

The restaurant will be closed until it can be repaired and we will let you know when we are back in operation.

Camel Burgers: The Newest Healthy Option in Dubai

Sorry we don’t carry this:

Friday, February 05, 2010

DUBAI — A traditional Emirati restaurant in Dubai has added a new entree to its menu billed as a fat-free choice for carnivorous but health-conscious diners: the Camel Burger.

For $5.45, the Local House restaurant offers a quarter pound camel burger, loaded with cheese and smothered in burger sauce, the Xpress weekly newspaper reported on Thursday.

Ali Ahmad Esmail, Local House assistant manager, told the paper that the burger patties were fat- and cholesterol-free. But he declined to say how the outlet tenderized the tough camel meat.

“It’s a trade secret,” he said.

Camel meat is widely eaten in some Arab countries, but is not typically sold in supermarkets or served in restaurants.

The paper reported that Local House said it was the first to introduce the burger in the United Arab Emirates. A fast food outlet in neighboring Saudi Arabia put baby camel burgers on its menu last year.

The camel burger, a hit with residents and tourists, could soon also be on offer in the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest tower formerly known as Burj Dubai, where Local House may open a branch, the paper said.

The burger is served with fries or potato wedges, and the paper suggested it could be washed down with a soft drink or a camel milkshake, also available in Dubai.

Nightime in Lindon – Little Acorn at Dinner time

Did you ever see the beautiful orange trim lights around Little Acorn at nightime? Well here is a shot of what the building looks like at night. Pretty isn’t it? Come in and have dinner sometime. The Halibut dinner is really great and is made with honest to goodness real halibut.

Fishing Utah? No… Where is this?

Where is this exotic location? Fishing in Utah? Not really. Guess again.

Could it be the Bahamas? Hawaii, Mexico, Cancun? Perhaps it’s Sea World ? All wrong! Actually it’s the fish tank at Little Acorn Restaurant. Come by and take a look.
The fish love their tank but they hate the SeaBurger sandwich that customers enjoy on a daily basis.
